The Museum of the American Railroad, located in Frisco, Texas, hosted the Amtrak Exhibit Train on their property on Saturday, September 24, from 10 AM to 5 PM.
I volunteered with the museum to assist visitors boarding the train which was a specially configured Amtrak passenger train. It consisted of 3 baggage cars repurposed as a museum with informative and interactive exhibits about Amtrak’s 45 year history as America’s railroad. The train also consisted of an Amfleet Cafe car repurposed as a gift shop featuring Amtrak branded merchandise.
John Garbutt, Director of Operations for the museum, said “the event was a great success”. Over 800 people were in attendance.
Here are some photos of the event.
